Blog Candy for a Cause

As some of you may know, I have MS. I have suffered from this chronic disease for many years and thankfully, God has allowed me to fare well. It isn't so for everyone. Multiple Sclerosis can be devastating for families because the disease is so unpredictable. One can go to sleep fine and wake up unable to walk. My family has always been very supportive of me...I remember my husband taking the babies with him to do the walk in PA to raise funds and awareness for MS. Well, here in Dallas, there is a major event to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society called the MS 150--a 150 mile, two day bike ride that benefits the MS Society. My wonderful husband has stepped up to the plate. He and a dear friend, Daryle, formed a team called Team Holly. I want to support this effort in some small way. I am going to have an eBay auction later this weekend and for right now I am going to offer some blog candy for a cause. I am going offer this stamp set as blog candy for a cause, and anyone who makes a donation of any amount to the MS Society in Shawn's name at this link
http://www.ms150.org/edon.cfm?id=221833
will be entered into the drawing for the stamp set. The art work at the top of this post is made from this beautiful set, Simple Beauty. Please make sure that if you donate you leave a comment. Also, please comment if you too have been touched by this disease. Remember, even $1 will help and its tax deductible :o)

I donated. It wasn't much since I just got done paying my stupid neurologist this week. GRR. My dh is planning on doing the MS 150 sometime in the near future. That is great of your dh and you can tell him Thank You from me as well. :)

What a great cause! I understand how it is not for everyone, my uncle has MS. Give your husband a big hug and I am glad that he has strpped up to the plate.

I just donated for you. Good luck to your DH in his ride, and to you in your struggles with this disease. I cared for someone with advanced MS for a few summers in my teens, and she had a great impact on my life. Thanks for sharing your story with us!

I just donated in your husband's name. I know we've never met, but we will never pass up a chance to help others who need it. That is so awesome that your husband and friend can do this for you!
God bless all of you and may He grant you healing and strength!

Holly, your husband is to be commended for riding in the MS 150. This is for a wonderful cause very close to my heart. You see, I too, like Holly, have MS. I have had MS for 17 years. As Holly stated, MS does not affect everyone in the same way. Sometimes you can look at a person with MS, and they look as healthy as you do, others you may see in wheelchairs or trying to walk with the help of a walker, and some can not get out of bed.

MS is a disease that has no cure YET, but SOMEDAY THERE WILL BE A CURE.

I am very pleased to sponsor Shawn, with a donation, in this wonderful mission to HELP CURE MS.

Thanks girlfriend for letting us be a part of this.
